Vintage Iced Tea Glasses Ribbed Two Piece 6 1/2" High

Description:

Welcome....and Thank You for stopping by to 'take a peek' at my item for sale.

For your consideration we offer a Set of 5 Vintage Drinking Glasses, we'll call them Ice Tea Glasses cuz we be from the South and that's what we like Suh...Sweet Please...

These Glasses are rather unusual, well at least to me. They seem to be in two parts There is a seam on two sides and it runs the entire length of the glass...even into the foot.

On the lower part of the glass there is a 'ribbed effect'...I guess so you can hold it better. There are 9 ridges that run 2" in length from the bottom toward the rim of the glass.

The glass itself seems to have some slight pattern that runs in a vertical line up and down the glass, it's ever so slight but it can be seen when held at just the right angle to the light, and can be felt when you run your fingers over the surface.

I can't find a 'makers mark', or, logo on these anywhere, so I can't really date these. I'm sure some astute glass collector can though.

Other than a few minor 'surface scratches' from washing and/or storage, these glasses are in excellent condition. One of the glasses has a slight imperfection on the inside of the rim, it's not a chip, more like something that happened while being made...it runs about an inch and is right on a seam. I'm sure it could be ground off if someone wanted to go to the trouble.

When you 'flick' these glasses they have a clear 'ping' to them...they might be lead crystal. I'm no expert, just a guess.

These were part of the Estate Sale I got so many 'old' items out of...the Lady of the house must have never thrown ANYTHING away...

I have other OLD ITEMS from this same Estate Sale listed, and more to come in the future as I continue to explore all the 'goodies' that were in the boxes of 'stuff' I ended up with.
