Weldon's Practical Knitting And Crochet

Spiral Bound Book Republication™

Tea Cosies In Knitting, Crochet, Embroidery, etc.

35 Illustrations

Originally Published c1900!

If you are the first to bid on this auction, using the buy-it-now option, YOU WIN! There's no chance of being outbid! DON'T WAIT!

Up for bid is another marvelous Dakota Prairie Treasures Spiral Bound Book Republication™ of the original ''Weldon's Practical Shilling Guide to Fancy Work: Tea Cosies!'' This item has many illustrations and instructions for tea cosies made with various needle working techniques! These items are made with crochet, knitting, hardanger, cross stitch, raffia work, macram?, embroidery and darned filet net methods. The instructions for these items were created by experienced traditional needlework artists from across the Atlantic in England in c1900 and earlier! (Original is NOT for sale)

This item is a great resource for those who are historical reenactment enthusiasts, stage and theatre costumers, students of historical fiber and textile arts, etc!

Our new line of Spiral Bound Book Republications™ oh-so-conveniently lie flat while in use!

This is a unbelievably nice touch if you have every tried to read a pattern's instructions while your hands are full of your in progress project. As an avid needleworker myself my personal experience prompted my choice of spiral binding for it's ease-of-use alone. I bet you'll love it too!

Originally produced in England by dedicated tea-drinkers c1900!

If you are into antique tea cosies/cozies and such this it the auction for you! It includes  patterns, pictures, directions and instructions for 17 darling and unique tea cosies! You can see this book will keep you busy a long time these coming cold winter months making beautiful crocheted, knitted, embroidered, canvas worked, bead worked, net darning, Hardanger, cross stitched and raffia worked cosies for you and yours, as gifts or to sell at autumn or winter craft fairs. They certainly would make novel and valuable gifts for Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries or weddings.

What a historically educational and delightful art instructional piece this is!

FYI: As we pour over our antique book archives we have occasional discovered more turn-of-the-century tea cosy patterns and instructions. So, being our overly obsessive selves, we will (over time)  be adding those additional instructions to this product. We feel they are just too fun and valuable not to share with other who love them as much as we!
