Dictionary of the Stitches Used in Art Needlework

CD REPUBLICATION

Originally Published in 1885!

If you are the first to bid on this auction, using the buy-it-now option, YOU WIN!! There is no chance of being outbid! DON'T WAIT!!

Up for bid is a CD REPUBLICATION OF the original ''Dictionary of the Stitches Used in Art Needlework'' published by Strawbridge & Clothier of Philidelphia in 1885! These folks provided some of the best instruction books for the needlearts ever published! The experienced needlecraft and fancywork artesians of the late 1800's (Victorian era) clamoured for this type of item and with good reason! (Original is NOT for sale)

This HISTORIC book contains  67 pages of steel plate etchings, instructions, designs and fundamentals for creating the extremely handsome soft furnishings of the Victorian era! There are 78 DIFFERENT EMBROIDERY STITCHES in this item! There are 19 FULL-PAGE SIZED ANTIQUE EMBROIDERY PATTERNS for crazy quilts, redwork, blackwork, whitework, doilies and centerpieces included! You will also find historical facts on this ancient craft as well as various RARE and UNIQUE guidelines to assist you along the way to recreating the needleworked items of a classic and gentile society!

Here is an OLD, resourceful and exceptional embroidery instructional and design book CD Republication. These instructions are characteristic of the fancy work done by our oh-so-feminine lady ancestors during the Victorian era! This is the perfect opportunity to purchase your own version of another wonderful craft book revealing our heritage from early America and Europe!
