The following item is a lovely vintage Wedgwood collector plate. The plate has a gorgeous rendering of the Maplewood Hotel that was located in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. It has a beautiful border of roses and leaves. The plate has a copyright date of 1900. The very involved back stamp has the following information: Sole Importers Jones M Duffy & Stratton Co., Boston, with a lion logo, Copyright J. McD & S, 1900, The MAPLEWOOD HOTEL 1900, MADE IN ENGLAND FOR A. A. MILLS CO, PITTSFIELD, MASS., WEDGWOOD ETRURIA ENGLAND. The plate has an impressed Wedgwood mark as well. There is a hand written history taped onto the back regarding the hotel's being torn down and replaced with a supermarket in the 1920s or 30s, signed by Ruth Kimle or Kimble. This is written on an old air mail envelope with a postmark in the corner. The plate is in very good condition with no breaks, chips, etc. There are remnants of glue or tape residue on the plate although since photographing, I've discovered that much or all of this is removable. The plate measures approximately 9 1/4" in diameter. Just beautiful!! Insurance and delivery confirmation are included in shipping costs.
