Pax does not burn but simply heats tobacco or aromatherapy herbs which releases a delicious, satisfying vapor. With no burning there is no smoke which makes Pax a cleaner and effective alternative to burning organic matter. The Pax heats up organic matter quickly, in as little as 30 seconds. It can be adjusted to three different temperatures to accommodate different herbs.

The temperature can be set by clicking a hidden button under the mouthpiece. The indicator light on the outer case is shaped like an "X" and displays the battery charge level, The heating status, and the temperature setting through the use of multi-color LED lights. The temperatures display as yellow, orange, or red to indicate either low, medium or high settings.
