The Art of Making Wax Flowers

Spiral Bound Book Republication™

Originally published in 1884!

126-yr-old Antique Victorian Etchings & Instructions for Wax Flower Making!

Up for bid is another marvelous Dakota Prairie Treasures Spiral Bound Book Republication™ of our original "The Art of Making Wax Flowers!" Filled with instructions with steel plate etchings/woodcuts by the experienced fancywork wax artists from the Victorian Era. This information was originally published in 1884! (Original is NOT for sale)

This HISTORIC item contains illustrations, instructions, diagrams, designs materials and fundamentals for creating a variety of wax work floral items. There are many etchings of leaf templates and designs for a pleathora of wax flower ornaments with significant cultural and historical based instructions included!

This type of original information is seldom found on Atomic Mall or elsewhere! I was fortunate enough in my bibliomaniacal searching to run across this gem and am sharing with those who love the old arts as much as I!

These instructions are characteristic of the crafts done by our lady ancestors during the Victorian and Antebellum cultural periods and earlier! This is the perfect opportunity to purchase your own version of another wonderful creative art informational source revealing our heritage from early America and European!

A few quotes:

"To understand properly the making of models of flowers from wax, we must first allude to the materials employed, then to the procuring of proper shapes or patterns, afterwards to the fashioning of these materials, cut to the required patterns into the objects to be imitated, and finally, the natural arrangement and finishing of each part, the decorating it with artificial leaves, tendrils, etc., and the grouping of the whole together into a harmonious contrast ..."

What a historically educational and delightful art instructional piece this is!
