What is a Draft Pattern? (Click to find out)

This item is a great resource for those who are Civil War, Antebellum, Victorian and Dickens historical reenactment enthusiasts, opera, stage and theatre costumers, students of historical clothing, fiber and textile arts, etc!

Perfect for the girl with the remarkable sense of style!

Wear to school, work, clubbing dates, proms, weddings and more!

An excerpt:

"If worn on the head, it should be so folded that the fichu is 3 doubles in the centre, with a small point formed by the corner on each side; the other corners then hang down in the shape of lappets. It is placed on the had in the same manner as the little morning caps so much in vogue. It can be used square, as a neckhandkerchief, and we recommend the stitch most strongly, working in eider yarn or Shetland wool for a shawl."

Included will be which current yarns and needle equivalents to use that are most similar to that which the Victorian ladies used. It actually is no more difficult than the more common stitches we are accustomed to today but very distinctly unique in appearance! Not your typical needle working result and sure to be admired, coveted and questioned after by many. :)

The ladies of earlier times put their hands to such marvelous work and now you can too! This is a beautiful item and sure to delight you and yours! The instructions are very clear and easy to follow and yet the experience needle worker will be capable of altering as per individual needs and artistic whim.

The antique and vintage yarns, hooks, etc., can be found on Atomic Mall quite readily. You just have to hunt a little bit! :) Or, of course, you can utilize contemporary tools and materials found at a nearby fabric, craft or hobby store…
