Description
Library of Congress Catalog Card Number 68-13411.
One hundred full-page four-colour plates on cream stock, perfect for looking at as is, also suitable for mounting, covering 1853 to 1915. Research, design and production on this project started in 1950 and continue right up to the year of publication 1965. An unprecedented undertaking, the work has entailed many thousands of sketches, finished drawings and color overlays. The acceptance of the finished work, issued in a limited edition, and its placement in key libraries and collectors' hands as a major reference tool, stamps the GALLERY as a significant contribution to our industrial history.
