I Saw The Russian People

 by

Copyright 1945

Little, Brown and Company, Boston

297 pages with some black/white photos

Good condition. The dedication page has a corner that is almost torn off. No jacket cover. Cover spine is just a bit loose. Both covers have soft lower corners and a few small stains. This is the first book I have seen where the pages, especially at the bottom, are not even. It is as if some pages are cut shorter than others prior to book assembly. I did see one page with a small tear at bottom of page, about 1/2 inch in from the page hinge.

 From the book preface:

DAt General Dwight D. Eisenhower's last Press conference of the war, in Paris, June 15, 1945, he was asked; "Is there anything in your experience with the Russians that leads you to feel we can't co-operate with them perfectly?"

"On my level, nothing," the General answered. "I have found the individual Russian one of the friendliest person in the world. He likes to talk with us, laugh with us....He likes to see the humor of life...I am sure they like the Allies and were darn glad to see us...The Russians are very friendly. I am convinced that they want peace and a chance to develop themselves the same as anyone else. My contacts with the Russians are heartwarming."

General Eisenhower ended his perss conference with these words: "The peace lies, when you get down to it, with all the peoples of the world."

Book is set to ship via Media Mail. If you would like it mailed quicker, via Priority Mail, please email me and I will adjust your invoice.
