Specializing in China and pottery, mainly replacement dinnerware. It has been five years now since we closed our Brick and Mortar storefront and started selling quality junk online. We make every attempt to research, describe & price our merchandise fairly. We list new merchandise often. For the most part We are having a lot of fun and making new friends.

Description -- Pot with lid, five mugs and saucers. 9 1/2" tall to top of finial x 3 1/2" upper diameter x 5 1/4" bottom diameter. Mugs are 2 3/4" tall x 2 5/8" opening diameter x 1 7/8" bottom diameter. Saucers are 5 1/8" diameter. All pieces are decorated with orange and blue floral decals with tan luster trim and highlights. Pot and saucers have a black Nippon Mark on bottom.

The porcelain bodies appear to be fine quality, but the decal work is not. It is spotty and off center in places, The trim is ragged around the edges of the pot in particular. The mark can be felt above the glaze.

Historical Data -- Nippon generally refers to Japanese wares made between 1891 and 1921. The use of the English word "Japan" was not generally used in the earlier ware and you can clearly see it is present on this bottom stamp. I am assuming that these beautiful pieces are Post WWII repros, but I am no expert in this area.
