About Atomic Mall

Who or what is Atomic Mall?
Atomic Mall is a worldwide online marketplace, where Buyers and Sellers from around the globe can converge and trade with each other. Essentially, it's the web's newest and coolest place to buy or sell...anything! At Atomic Mall, our goal is to put the "fun" back into online shopping and auction bidding - the way it used to be, but without the hassle of dealing with last-second snipers or shill bidders.

Our philosophy is that Sellers shouldn't have to take out a second mortgage just to get their items listed. With no guarantee of sale, this frontloaded approach used by some sites is a big risk for many Sellers! We offer a selling platform with NO up-front listing fees, and two account levels which feature no membership fees and a free Storefront! At Atomic Mall, we think getting your unique products seen should be as risk-free and pain-free as possible.

What's your history?
As online marketplaces go, we're brand new and full of energy and optimism. However, the engine that powers this shiny new hot rod has a proven track record. I'm Mike Shannon, and I conceived and founded Atomic Mall in January of 2008. I am a 20+ year veteran of e-commerce who not only ran my own successful shopping sites for many years, but was actively selling products online several years before the World Wide Web even escaped from the lab. I was also a high volume Seller at eBay®, Amazon®, PriceGrabber®, Half® and other large online shopping channels. Together with a small team of skilled programmers and IT gurus, we've injected our combined real-world experience into what we feel is the world's most unique and dynamic trading destination. We'd like to invite you to try us risk-free, and decide for yourself.

What's so special about Atomic Mall?
Many sites have great gizmos, but they're slow or don't work. Some sites have a level of functionality, but they lack the bells and whistles that enhance the shopping or listing experience. Our thought: why can't a shopping site have both?

Everything you see at Atomic Mall was built from the ground up. Our site was not purchased and installed out of a box. Every feature, function and control was created with a specific purpose in mind: to make it easier and more enjoyable to buy or sell a product. We've had several years of experience in the ecommerce world, and we know what works and what doesn't. The newest web gadget might look great, but if it takes forever to load and causes customers to shop elsewhere, it's of little use. We've taken the entirety of our combined experience and used it to shape and mold Atomic Mall into a tool that is first and foremost: useable, while remaining visually appealing and intuitive. We want to help merchants find new customers, and to keep them coming back. We also want shoppers to find their object of desire quickly and easily. These were our two primary guidelines in the creation of Atomic Mall's infrastructure. The site just had to "feel right", and we think it does. :-)

Who can sell here?
Anyone at least 18 years of age, who is capable of engaging in legally binding transactions under applicable law, and in possession of either a valid credit card or PayPal account, legally registered in his/her name.

What do I need to do to set up a store?
Complete our secure Seller Registration form and provide your real name and address, along with a valid Visa, MasterCard or American Express account number. Your card is used to help verify your identity, but is not charged unless & until you make a sale on our site. We can also accept account payements through PayPal.

How much does it cost?
To minimize fraud and ensure we only sign the highest quality merchants, Atomic Mall charges a non-refundable verification fee at signup. This fee helps us screen out less than honest sellers, and ranges from $10 to $12.50. It is credited back to your selling account after approval, along with a special new account Bonus credit for GoldPlus and higher account levels.

* Our Gold, GoldPlus and Titanium account levels have no monthly subscription fee, but our Mercury, Cobalt and Uranium accounts do. If an account level with a monthly fee is chosen at signup, the first month's subscription is added to the verification fee. This amount is also credited back to your AM seller account, essentially giving you your first month for free! Your account credit may be used as payment toward any future site fees you incur.

Sellers choosing the Titanium account level need only pay a one-time registration fee of $34.95. This will entitle you to permanent freedom from both monthly subscription fees and final sale fees on Atomic Mall. (Listing upgrade fees still apply)

Our popular Gold and GoldPlus accounts feature no monthly subscription fees. You only pay a reasonable Final Sale Fee based on your transaction value, with the completion of a valid sale. For members who wish to list more than 2500 items at any one time, we offer higher level accounts at extremely reasonable rates.

Is there a minimum # of items I have to list?
Absolutely not. You can advertise one item, or 10,000, or zero. To keep your Storefront visible to the public, you need to have at least one active listing however.

Can I sell from outside the U.S.?
Of course! As long as you meet the requirements for becoming a Seller, you can sell from anywhere in the world. Our site also offers the ability to view items in various foreign currencies, including Japanese Yen, British Pounds, Australian Dollars, Canadian Dollars, and Euros.

How do I pay for final sale fees?
Final sale fees (FSF's) can currently be paid by credit card or PayPal. The card you have on file is billed for outstanding FSF's on the 1st and 15th of each month. If paying by credit card, there is a $5.00 minimum credit card charge. In the event your fees for any billing period are less than $5.00, the overage is credited to your account, and applied to the next billing cycle. If you choose PayPal as your payment method, incremental amounts of your choosing are prepaid into your account. When sales are made or other fees incurred, the fees are deducted from this existing credit.

What items can I sell at Atomic Mall?
You can sell virtually anything that does not constitute a violation of law, or infringe on another person or entity's copyright or trademark rights. If it's not listed under the "Prohibited Items" section of our Terms of Service, you can most likely advertise it for sale. When in doubt, contact us first.

What items are prohibited from sale?
Generally, any item or service which may constitute a violation of law or infringement of copyright, through its trade, advertisement or use. For the complete list of items prohibited by Atomic Mall, see the "Prohibited Items" section of our Terms of Service.

How can I personalize my store?
You can add banners, avatars and store logos through your Account control panel at:
Account > Toolbox. You may also enter information about your business, shipping policies, return polices etc, through your Seller Account menu.

How do I create a listing?
Two ways:

#1: Go to the Item Creation page and enter all pertinent details for your item. You can include up to four photos (free of course!), as well as set shipping charges for domestic, express, and overseas shipping. You can even give your listing a little "flair" by dressing up the description with custom fonts, formatting and colors.

#2: Take inventory data you already have in your spreadsheet, and export it for use with our bulk upload utility, called the AtomicUploader. Using this handy tool will allow you to create and maintain all your ad listings offline, and send them to Atomic Mall whenever you're ready. You can view additional info on the Uploader Help Page.

Can I make a custom category?
At this time the sitewide categories, sub-categories and 3rd-tier sub-categories are restricted to those in our site category list. You can however make as many custom store categories as you need, simply by entering them as you make new listings. These store categories can be anything you want, from product brands, to specific colors & sizes, to increasingly narrow niche categories. You may also suggest new site categories through the appropriate thread in our forums.

What about sales tax?
We encourage all Sellers to consult their accountants or tax advisors with regard to their specific obligations relating to tax collection. Generally, a Seller is required by law to collect sales tax on any monetary transaction within the framework of a business selling environment. However, laws vary by state, and some states do not have sales tax, so we leave this decision, as well as any and all consequences which may arise from said decision, to the Seller. Sales tax is controlled from: Account > Toolbox > Sales Tax.

How do I "nuke" an item?
Items can be deleted from your inventory three ways:

#1: By viewing your item page and clicking: Seller: Edit this Item > Delete this Item

#2: By viewing your inventory page and selecting checkboxes next to each item you wish to delete:
Account > Inventory

#3: By selecting "Vacation Mode" from the Seller Tools panel, then clicking "Nuke ALL listings", you can erase your entire inventory. (use with caution!) How do I insert photos into my listings?
Images may be uploaded directly, or linked from an outside host. To upload images directly to Atomic Mall, currently you must use one of these browsers:

When creating or editing a listing, click the "Upload Photo" button to launch the uploader window. Then click "browse" to locate the image file on your hard drive, and click "upload image" to submit it. After upload is complete, you may click and drag your mouse to crop the image if desired. Because of a security issue with Internet Explorer, we don't currently offer direct uploads with that browser. You may still link to photos using IE, but they need to be hosted at an image hosting site like Photobucket.com or Tinypic.com. Click the "Link to Photo" button to use this method, and insert the url link to the image in the box. Example: http://photohost.com/myaccount/image1.jpg

How can I review my sales history?
Through your store account panel: Account > Sales History. All past sales are available here, along with Buyer and item details. You can also leave feedback for your transaction partner, and enter tracking and other shipping information through this panel.

What if a Buyer doesn't pay?
Because of the design of Atomic Mall and its checkout structure, this problem should not be significant with an electronic pay method like Paypal or Amazon Payments. Sellers are notified of sales only after an order has been processed, and payment has been received. Therefore, you only receive an order notification from us after the money is already in your account, or cleared to be processed. In the event of a payment cancellation, or failure to submit money order or check payments, you are encouraged to report the offending individual to our Seller protection team at: alliance@atomicmall.com. Continued abuse of the non-payment clause of our Terms of Service may result in the cancellation of the offender's account.

Do you have any banners or logos to use as links?
Yes, we have several available on our BBS here: Downloadable Banners
Feel free to use them as graphical links back to your Atomic Mall Storefront, or to Atomic Mall's landing page.

Can I put a link to my web site on my Storefront?
Yes. You can add a banner to your Storefront using the Toolbox function on your Account page, and it allows you to link your banner to any outside site. We only ask that on your other site, you include a return link to your Atomic Mall Storefront, or the Atomic Mall home page.

What is your policy on fee refunds and credits?
If for any reason a Buyer fails to honor their commitment to pay for a purchase from your Atomic Mall storefront, you may request an FSF (final sale fee) refund. If your fees are paid by credit card, this credit will be applied to your account balance and settled semi-monthly within our regular fee processing schedule. Items which have already been shipped to the buyer are not eligible for a FSF credit, and requests must be made within 45 days of sale.

Can I upgrade my listings to make them stand out?
We have several options for enhancing your listings to make them more visible to shoppers. You can add borders, bold text, a colorized background, or all three. The pricing for any single enhancement is 20 cents. You can add all three to your listing for 50 cents. These charges are "per listing", and stay with each ad until it is permanently deleted. Click the blue Info icon beside the listing upgrade field on the Item Creation page for more info and examples.

Does Atomic Mall handle payments?
No. All proceeds from sales go directly to the seller's Paypal, Amazon, Xcoin, Authorize.net or Bitcoin merchant account. In the event of payment by money order or check, those payments are sent directly to the physical address on file for your account.

How do I submit my items to Google Base?
All product submissions to Google Base for inclusion in Google Shopping are done automatically by Atomic Mall for each store owner. To increase the chances of your items being indexed by Google, make sure your listing descriptions are accurate and relevant, without a lot of boilerplate text like "FREE SHIPPING!" or "HURRY! BUY NOW!". Also make sure your items have valid and relevant images, and that you actually have physical possession of the products you wish to sell.

Can I list my item in an auction format?
Absolutely! With the launch of AtomicAuction.com on Jan 1st 2011, any listing on Atomic Mall may be turned into an auction. It's also possible to create a "hybrid" listing, in which buyers can purchase instantly, make an offer, or place a bid. Atomic Auctions don't close at a preset time. They are sniper-proof, and can end after only a few seconds or minutes!

How do I buy a product from a Seller?
You can find your object of desire by using our standard search engine, our advanced search function, by browsing our 900+ product categories, or even finding an item by chance in one of our display boxes. Simply place the item in your cart by clicking the "Add to Cart" button, and continue shopping at your leisure. When you're ready to pay, click "Checkout" from your Cart window, or at the bottom of any page. This will take you through the order finalization process, where you can select shipping methods, enter your shipping info (it's entered automatically if you're already registered), and choose payment methods. If you're buying from multiple Sellers, you can return to the checkout page after payment, to follow up with your remaining orders.

What if my payment is declined?
If your payment method is not approved by the payment processor, your cart will be enclosed by a red border, with a note detailing the nature of the problem, and the order will not be sent to the Seller for processing. You should contact our Sales Support Team for further instructions.

What if the item I received isn't as described.
Itís unfortunate when situations like this occur, but Buyers and Sellers should work with each other to resolve all disputes. If this does not solve the problem, you can contact Atomic Mall through our Contact page to file an official Member complaint form, which will be forwarded to your transaction partner with instructions and options. If the problem remains unaddressed, the offending userís account will be monitored, and may be terminated with further, similar complaints.

Which payment methods can I use?
This is completely dependent on each Seller's individual preferences, as set through their Storefront control panel. The payment options offered by Atomic Mall are Paypal, Bitcoin, Xcoin, Amazon Payments, Visa & Mastercard through Authorize.net, Money Orders/Cashier's Checks, and Personal Checks. A Seller can opt to include any one of these pay methods, or all of them. Note that you DON'T NEED an existing account to choose these payment methods to pay for your order(s). As long as you have a valid credit card or checking account, you can still use most pay methods at checkout.

How long should it take to get my stuff?
Each Seller is required to list an expected ship delay time with each item advertised. This can range from same day, to 5+ days. Add that number to the expected delivery time for your chosen shipping method, and you have a fairly accurate estimated time of arrival. Most Sellers will ship within 1-2 days, and regular ground shipping can take anywhere from 1-6 business days within the U.S., depending on location.

How do I check order status?
Your Account page has a function which shows all your recent orders, along with shipment dates, tracking numbers, and other details entered by the Seller. To access it, go to: Account > Purchase History or Account > Order Status. Once the Seller has set the tracking number, you may check shipment status with one click through our Tracking Station: Account > Purchase History > Order ID

Do I need to register before I start shopping?
Absolutely not! When designing Atomic Mall, we listed our biggest pet peeves as shoppers. At the top of the list: sites that won't let you put an item in your cart, or go here or there until you register first. We believe shopping online should be uber-easy and convenient through every stage of the experience: from the first time you enter the site to final checkout. For new Atomic Mall users, the registration process takes place invisibly and effortlessly as you enter your shipping address at checkout.

Can I use the same cart for buying items from different Sellers?
Absolutely. Take your time and shop 'til you drop. Add as many items to your cart, from as many different Sellers as you like. When you checkout, the payment gateway will automatically route the correct payments to the correct Sellers.
